Accommodations (IEP/504)

At Valor Global Online, we recognize the unique learning needs of every student and are committed to providing appropriate accommodations for those with current Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 plans. Our goal is to foster growth and help students reach grade level, with the intention of phasing out the need for accommodations over time.

Requirements for Accommodations

  • Current Documentation: The IEP or 504 plan must be current and no older than one year.
  • Academic Transcripts and Testing Scores: Families must provide the most recent academic transcripts and testing scores (such as MAP or equivalent).
  • Formal Diagnosis: If Valor staff becomes aware of an undiagnosed learning difference, they will inform the parent and recommend the appropriate course of action. A formal diagnosis is required for ongoing accommodations.

Valor's Role

  • Honoring Existing Plans: Valor staff will make their best effort to honor existing accommodations and work closely with families.
  • Documentation for Testing: We will document the accommodations made for your child and provide these for SAT/ACT testing and college entrance.
  • No Annual Reviews or New Plans: As a private institution, Valor does not provide annual reviews or write new IEPs or 504 plans.

Important Considerations

  • Acceptance: Not every student with an IEP or 504 plan will be accepted. Valor ensures that the learning needs align with what the school can provide.
  • Quality Information: It's vital to have quality information about the child's needs and learning style to ensure success.

Valor Global Online's approach to accommodations reflects our commitment to individualized support and student success. By working collaboratively with families and adhering to current documentation, we strive to create an environment where every student can thrive.
