Restoration/Discipline Policy

We believe in nurturing a positive culture and setting clear expectations for our students. When a student struggles to meet these expectations, we follow a systematic approach to help them grow, ensuring that the process is swift, transparent, and involves all relevant parties.

Student Restoration Plan - Action Steps

Step 1: Identifying the Issue
  • Receiving a Grievance or Complaint: This can be through a BARK Alert or direct observation of behavior.
  • Behavior Witnessed: The behavior that violates the school's culture and expectations is identified.
Step 2: Initial Response
  • Forward to Advocate and Administrator: The issue is forwarded to the appropriate staff.
  • Acknowledging Receipt: If appropriate, reply to the parent/student acknowledging receipt.
  • Scheduling a Meeting: A live meeting or phone call is scheduled with the student, parent, teacher, and/or advocate to create a restorative behavior action plan.
Step 3: Resolution and Follow-Up
  • Notify Necessary Parties: Anyone involved in the resolution is informed.
  • Documentation: A summary of the grievance and resolution is added to Beehively.
  • Check-in: Follow up with the family within 24 hours to one week to assess progress.

Technology Use Corrective Action Policy

Valor Global Online emphasizes a posture of curiosity, grace, and repentance in all exchanges. The following actions are taken based on the severity of the issue:

  • Notice: For behaviors such as bullying, disruptions, disrespect, or inappropriate use of technology.
  • Suspension of Privileges: For more serious offenses like privacy violations, extreme inappropriate content, safety threats, or negative public display of the VGO brand.
  • Removal From School: For repeated offenses, cyber attacks, or misuse of force on staff, parent, or teacher.

Valor Global Online's Restoration/Discipline Policy reflects our commitment to maintaining a positive learning environment and helping students grow through understanding and compassion. By following clear action steps and working collaboratively with families, we strive to restore trust and facilitate continuous learning.
