BARK Monitoring

At Valor Global Online, we believe in the transformative power of technology and its potential to ignite students' identity in Christ and their learning capability. We also recognize the importance of maintaining a safe and responsible online environment. To this end, we have partnered with BARK, a monitoring tool that helps us uphold our community's standards of accountability, excellence, grace, and integrity.

What is BARK?

BARK is a monitoring system that scans students' VALORSCHOOL.ORG accounts (not the devices themselves) to ensure community safety and adherence to our technology promise.

How Do BARK Alerts Work at VGO?

What Valor Does:

1. Scans Only VALORSCHOOL.ORG Accounts: BARK scans only the school-associated email accounts.
2. Emergency Alerts: Immediate response to emergency alerts or community safety concerns.
3. Severe Alerts: Forwarding severe alerts to Advocates to ensure parent communication.
4. Guidance: Providing help on how to talk to your kids about discoveries.
5. CALM Technology Plan Resources: Resources to maintain a calm technology environment.
6. Discounts and Guidance: Help with using BARK at home for all devices/accounts.
7. 1:1 Family Help & Coaching: Personalized assistance at mindee.hardin@valorschoool.org.

Parent Portal Set Up:

2. Email Check: Check your email (including SPAM) for an automated email from BARK.
3. Portal Usage: Click Here for how to use the portal, check your student's VGO account, receive alerts, sign up additional children, and get discounts for device protection.
